Born May 14, 1929, in Winters, Mr Gonzales graduated from Winters High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 until 1946. A veteran of the Korean War, he fought in the battle of Heartbreak Ridge and earned a Purple Heart. Living in Woodland, he drove a cement mixer truck for Pacific Cement Aggregates and LoneStar Ready Mix in Sacramento for 35 years until retiring in 1991, and was a member of the Teamsters Union. Mr Gonzales is survived by son Robert and his wife Carol of Woodland; son Herman and wife Barbara of Woodland; son Timothy and wife Jennifer of Sacramento. Grandchildren include: Catrina and Steven Castaneda of San Jose; Bryce Gonzales of San Francisco; Jeremy and Kristin Gonzales of Woodland, Kasey Gonzales of Fresno; Kevin and Kristen Gonzales of Arbuckle. Great- grandchildren include Savannah, Jayden, Kodee. Others surviving include brothers Willie of Fairfield, John of Woodland, Ralph of Winters, Buell of Drewsey, Oregon, and sisters Christina Borges of Carmichael, Edna Jo of Vacaville and Lois May Foster of Joplin, Montana. He also is survived by wife Imogene and her family. He was preceded in death in 2002 by his wife of 50 years, Ellen Fay; parents Alejandro and Edna as well as his brother, Mac. Services: A service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at Price Funeral chapel 6335 Sunrise, Citrus Heights. Viewing will take place on from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 2, and one hour prior to services, on Jan. 3. Cremains will later be placed at Monument Hill, Woodland. Donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Price Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Published in the Daily Democrat on 1/1/2006.
