Ann L. Sargent

Ann Louise Sargent died on Sept. 19, 2002, at Sutter Davis Hospital after she
courageously fought lung cancer for 11 months. Born on March 18, 1940 in
Oakland, she was 62.

She was raised in Redding. She later lived in Antioch and came to Davis to
attend the university. She resided in Davis for the past 35 years. She worked at
UC Davis for more than 20 years as a staff research associate. She was an avid
gardener and enjoyed caring for her cats. She was described by her family as a
devoted mother and a very generous, kind friend.

She is survived by her children Scott Sargent of Walnut Creek; Steve Sargent of
Davis and Robin Sargent of Davis. She is also survived by her brother Arnold
Sargent of Woodland and her sister Lynn Reynolds of Woodland.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the
Davis Cemetery, 820 Pole Line Road. Remembrances may be made in her name to the
American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral
Chapel.
