Heidrick A lifelong resident of Yolo County, Edith Inez (Horgan) Heidrick died at Woodland Memorial Hospital on Sept. 8, 2002, at age 85. She was born Dec. 4, 1916 in Hungry Hollow. Both her parents, John Horgan Jr. and Wilhelmina (Weiss) Horgan, were Yolo County residents. She grew up on the Horgan family farm and attended the original Clover School on County Road 19 in Woodland. She later helped restore the school to its historic condition in 1994. On March 17, 1941, she married Joseph Heidrick Sr. in Reno. Before his passing in April 1988, the couple celebrated 47 years of marriage. They were very fond of traveling and visited locations around the world, including Africa, Italy, Mexico and Sweden. Aside from traveling, she had many diverse interests such as photography, gardening, baking, crotcheting and caring for her animals. She was an active member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and participated in many civic activities throughout the years. She was known for her quick wit, sense of humor and kinds words for those she encountered. A son, John Heidrick, preceded her in death in January 1965. She is survived by two daughters, Gloria McGinnis and her husband John of Willows, Martha Hilleby and her husband Hans of Woodland; her son, Joseph Heidrick Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Woodland; and six grandchildren, Tim Heidrick, Joel Diaz and her husband Tom of Woodland, Kathy McGinnis of San Jose, Patty McGinnis of Chico, Bonnie Hilleby of Woodland and Hans Hilleby Jr. of Chico. Great-grandchildren Drew and Garrett Heidrick and Jordan, Tommy and Michael Diaz, all of Woodland, also survive her. Visitation will be held today from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St. in Woodland. A rosary will be recited beginning at 7 p.m. with Deacon Ed Kull presiding. Friends and family are invited to attend. A graveside committal service will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with Father John Boll officiating.
