Born Sept. 27, 1907, in Shively, she had been a Yolo County resident for 11 years, having previously been a longtime resident of Humboldt County. She was the daughter of the late John and Sarah (Kane) McKeown who had emigrated from Antrim County, Ireland. She was a 1927 graduate of Fortuna High School and was employed as secretary for an insurance firm in San Francisco, before marrying and becoming a homemaker. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Pacific Star, San Francisco; and a past Guardian of Job's Daughters, Bethel No. 201, Stockton. Survivors include her daughters, Charlotte Nevills and husband Gordon of Woodland, and Sara Nasholts and husband John of Brownsville; grandchildren, Cynthia Ruiz and husband Fernando of Woodland, Jeanette Brazil and husband James of Ione, Christina Isaac and husband Matt of Antelope, Scott Hatch and wife Beth of Sacramento, Daryl Gum of Monterey, and Kevin Gum of Reno, Nev.; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John Wittsche, in 1993; two sisters; and four brothers. The family requests memorials be directed to Hospice of Yolo County, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617; Citizens Who Care, 416 F St., Davis, 95616; or a charity of the donor's choice. Services: A memorial service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at Woodland Presbyterian Church, 1324 Columbia Drive, Woodland, with Rev. Brad VanZant officiating. Interment will be private.
