Raymond William Allen

Raymond William Allen died at Woodland Memorial Hospital Tuesday, March 30,
2004, at age 69.

Born April 12, 1934, in Zanesville, Ohio, Mr. Allen was the son of the late
Henry and Kathryn (Cohagen) Allen. He had been a Yolo County resident for 13 years.

Mr. Allen worked for FMC in San Jose as a machinist for 23 years. He was a
member of the Woodland Roadrunners Motorcycle Club. In October of 1951, he
enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Uhlmann, a destroyer
assigned to the Far Eastern Fleet off the coast of Korea. During the Korean War,
he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal with four
stars, the United Nations Service Medal and the China Service Medal in addition
to other awards.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine Allen and daughter Ann DelCastillo of
Woodland; his daughter Loretta Reese and husband Don of Illinois; and
grandchildren, Anthony DelCastillo and Daniel DelCastillo of Woodland, Phillip
Reese, Christopher Reese and Leslie Reese, all of Illinois. He was preceded in
death by his brother.

The family requests memorials be directed to the Food Bank of Yolo County, 1244
Fortna Ave., Woodland, 95776, in his behalf. Arrangements are under the
direction of Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland.

Services: A memorial mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at
Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. Friends and family are
invited to attend.
