Shunta Yamamoto

Shunta Yamamoto, whose vision and early financial support were integral in the
creation of International House, Davis, died June 29, 2002, in Gainesville, Fla.
He was 78.

Born in Tokyo, Japan, he moved to Gainesville from Davis nine years ago.

Although he no longer lived in Davis, Yamamoto remained honorary chairman of the
I-House board of directors.

He is survived by his wife, Chizuko Yamamoto of Gainesville, and two daughters,
Eleanor Yamamoto of Davis and Janet Yamamoto of Gainesville.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Williams-Thomas
funeral Home in Gainesville. There will be no local services. Interment will be
in Tokyo.
