Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net August 24, 2004, 11:40 pm "The Davis Enterprise," Monday, June 10, 2002 Daniel Sonner Daniel Sonner of Tarpon Springs, Fla., died with his children by his side on May 26, 2002, at the Helen Ellis Hospital in Tarpon Springs, Fla. He was 63. He was born on May 18, 1939, in Newberry, Mich., and spent his childhood in Ferndale, Mich. After high school, he played baseball for the U.S. Navy in Hawaii, and then moved to California , where he played baseball for the Giants Minor League Organization. He reared his family in California while working as a sales representative, which he did until his retirement. He spent his retirement in Tarpon Springs, where he enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers during spring training. His true passion was baseball, and he spent countless hours coaching and mentoring teen-agers for more than 30 years. A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D St., Davis.
