Farley Ruby Grace (Judd) Farley of Davis died peacefully on June 5, 2002, in Davis with her family by her side. She was 87. She was born on April 10, 1915, in Livingston, Tenn., to the late William F. and Stella T. (Alldred) Judd. She was a resident of Davis for the past five years, and previously lived in Forestville in Sonoma County for 32 years. After marrying her husband Orville Farley in Tennessee, the two moved to Detroit, where Ruby worked as a riveter building planes during World War II. Near the end of the war, she and her husband moved to Vallejo, then shortly after that they moved to Redwood City, where she served as supervisor in the election facilities and as partner and bookkeeper for the couple's garage and trucking businesses. After moving to Forestville, the couple owned and operated Farley's Nursery. She enjoyed growing flowers, knitting, crocheting and quilting many beautiful keepsakes for her friends and loved ones. She also treasured and loved the time she spent with her family. During her life, she was a generous person, loving in nature and always willing to help those in need. She was a member of the Forestville Methodist Church for 30 years. Upon the death of her husband, she relocated to Davis to be closer to her family. While in Davis, she continued her faith and membership at the United Methodist Church of Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, to whom she was married for 65 years; sister, Edna Selby of Quincy; and brother, Joe Judd. She is survived by son, Ervin Farley and his wife Carole of Napa; daughter, Charlotte (June) Cutler of Davis; and 10 grandchildren, Cheryl A. Taeseli of Sedona, Ariz., Michael and Pamela Higuera of Davis, Shawna and Mark Ruden of Cupertino, David and Elaine Farley of Milpitas, Melinda and Gary Hershon of Pleasanton and Kevin Farley of Napa. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Christopher Taesali, Nicholas and Michele Ruby Higuera, Patrick Ruden, Kaitlyn and Megan Farley and Cole and Halle Hershon. She is further survived by 20 nieces and nephews; a sister, Floria Holman; and a sister-in-law, Pearl Farley, both of Sparta, Tenn. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church of Davis, 1620 Anderson Road. The Rev. Eileen Lindsay will officiate. Friends are also invited to attend a graveside committal service at 1 p.m. Monday at Forestview Memorial Park in Forestville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Yolo Hospice, P.O.
