Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net June 2, 2004, 12:29 pm Woodland "Daily Democrat," Wednesday, March 24, 2004 Frank Alvarado Salaiz Frank Alvarado Salaiz died unexpectedly in Woodland Memorial Hospital Sunday, March 21, 2004, at age 62. Born Sept. 11, 1941, in Auburn, he had been a Yolo county resident for the past 40 years. He grew up in Colfax, attending area elementary schools before moving to Yolo County. He was a 1959 graduate of Colusa County's Pierce High School, and attended Yuba College prior to entering UC Berkeley. He was employed as a teacher in bilingual education and served as a dispatcher for Yuba College Police. Mr. Salaiz is survived by his daughters, Sharon Salaiz, Connie Roach and husband Steve of Yelm, Wash; grandchildren, Jonathan and Christopher Holden of Woodland, and Mehgan Hockman of Yelm, Wash. Also surviving are his sisters, Pat Frazier of Dunnigan, Betty Peņa of Mesa, Ariz., and Jeanette Roberts of Rocklin; brothers, Max Salaiz of Auburn, Joe Salaiz of Colton, Jess Salaiz of San Diego, Simon Monroy of Montebello, and Carl Monroy of Sacramento; numerous nieces and nephews; and family friend, Jerry Holden. He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Salaiz, in 1968; mother, Mary Salaiz, in 1996; and brother, Ben Monroy, in 1993. Services: A graveside service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2004, in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Woodland, with Father John Boll and Reverend Randy Vaughan officiating.
