Born Sept. 20, 1909, in Oakland to the late John and Agnes Lawrence, he was 92. He was a resident of Yolo County for 37 years. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1927 to 1930. He was employed by the city of Oakland Police Department for 25 years. After retiring in Oakland as a lieutenant, he went to work for the Yolo County Sheriff's Department for 10 years. He was a member and past president of the Yolo Fliers Club. He served on the board of directors of the Yolo Federal Credit Union and was a member of the Holy Rosary Church. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Tuttle of Whitefish, Mont., and son, Brian Lawrence of Moraga; grandchildren, Michael Lawrence of Seattle, Wash., Michele Farnung of Walnut Creek, Annie Tuttle of Bridgeville and Izzy Tuttle of Davis. He is also survived by his brother, Frank Lawrence of Walnut Creek. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian E. Lawrence on July 10, 1999. Respecting his wishes, no service will be held.
