Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net September 9, 2004, 10:24 pm "The Davis Enterprise," Thursday, March 28, 2002 James Chuckming Fan James Chuckming Fan died in the early morning hours of March 22, 2002, at his home. He was 88 years old. He was born Feb. 1, 1914, in the province of Cheking, China, one of five children of Chengtao and She Fan. He was a dedicated student and loyal military officer, serving as a colonel in the Taiwan army during World War II. After the war, he went to work for the Taipei Municipal Transportation Facility as a director of automobile transportation. A dedicated employee, he never missed a day's work; his children say he passed his strong work ethic on to them. He became a Christian in 1983 and remained a sincere believer in the last years of his life. A wonderful and loving husband and father, he was honest, truthful and respectful toward people he dealt with, his family says. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Yi-Cheng Fan. He is survived by his wife, Yi-Jen Cheng Fan of Davis; and his children, Hui-Jun Fan, Hui-Wen Fan and Yi-gong Fan, all of China; Hui-guang Fan, Whei-min Francis Fan and Whei-Mei Teresa Fan of Davis; and Yee-Wei David Fan of Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China. He is also survived by his brothers, Xu Tang Fan and Xu Chun Fan of China; his sisters, Cui-Jiao Fan, Mong-Jiao Fan and Yun-Jiao Fan of China; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Davis Chinese Christian Church, 536 Anderson Road. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Chapel.
