Reilly of El Macero died Feb. 25, 2002, at Sierra Health Care Convalescent Hospital. He was 83. He was born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., on Nov. 15, 1918, to Philip and Catherine Reilly. He graduated from Fordham University and attended Georgetown University Law School. He was appointed a special agent for the FBI in June 1942 and served in Portland, Ore., and Los Angeles until 1943. Reilly was commissioned into the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a deck and communications officer. He participated in naval action and amphibious landings in Iwo Jima and Okinawa, Japan, and the Philippines. He returned to the FBI after his military service and retired in 1973. He was a special investigator with the State Bar of California from 1975 to 1983. Survivors include his wife, Rita McLoone Reilly; his daughter, Sister Mary Rita Reilly of Sacramento; his sons and daughter-in-law, Anne and Patrick Shires of San Andreas and John Reilly of College Park, Md.; six grandchildren, Michael, Sarah, Kara, Brittany, Andrew and Devon; and his sister, Lucy Cooper of Arlington, Va. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church in Davis. Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery. Remembrances may be made in his name to the National Parkinson Foundation Inc. at 1501 NW 9th Ave./Bob Hope Rd., Miami, FL 33136. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Chapel.
