Lawrence A. Michael

Lawrence A. Michael of Davis died on Feb. 24, 2002, in Sacramento. He was 78.

He was born on Jan. 13, 1924, in Davis to Fred and Marie Michael. A graduate of
Davis High School, Michael attended UC Davis before enlisting in the Navy in
World War II. During the war, he served on the USS Omaha in the Pacific.

After the war, he graduated from San Jose State University and began his career
at the Westinghouse Corp. in Sunnyvale. He retired from the corporation's
materials management marine division in 1986.

Michael, an avid golfer and San Francisco 49ers fan, is survived by his wife,
Elsie Michael, and daughter, Laurie Michael.

A private service was held Monday, March 4, at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in
Los Altos.
