Marian Robertson Manville

Marian Robertson Manville, who recently moved to Davis from Casper, Wyo., died
of cancer on March 12, 2002, at her home. She was 75.

She was born on July 20, 1926, in Karval, Colo., to Thomas and Helen Robertson.
As a child, she lived in Colorado, Wyoming and Kansas.

She graduated from Hinkley High School in Aurora, Colo., in 1943 and
subsequently attended the University of Colorado in Boulder and Grinnell College
in Iowa.

In 1948, she married Robert Manville of Baynard, Iowa. Her husband worked for
the Red Cross, which posted the two in Oklahoma, Texas and Michigan. Eventually,
she and her husband settled in Casper.

While working in the home and raising her family, she pursued writing, painting
and music, and passed the love of those pursuits on to her children.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

She is survived by her son, Michael Manville of Loveland, Colo.; daughter Mindy
Manville and her husband Richard Wiebe of Davis; and granddaughter Lindsay
Manville-Wiebe of Davis.

She is also survived by nieces Leebett Calar and Renee Smith of Casper; nephew
James Jordan of Casper; niece Georgia Jordan of Battle Mountain, N.Y.; and niece
Karen Jordan Bauer of Salt Lake City.

A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the Highland Township
Cemetery in Baynard, Iowa. A memorial service will take place in Casper at a
later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Casper
College Foundation, 125 College Drive, Casper, WY 82601.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Chapel.
