Bertha L. Stuart

Bertha Lucille Stuart of Sacramento died March 12, 2002, at Mercy San Juan
Hospital in Sacramento. She was 89.

Born Jan. 30, 1913, in Lightning Creek, Okla., to James and Rosetta Dildine, she
was a longtime resident of Woodland before moving to Sacramento in January. She
was a homemaker all of her adult life. She loved doing craft projects; a
favorite project of hers was arranging flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil D. Stuart, sister Hazel Burch
and brothers Arlie Dildine and James Dildine Jr.

She is survived by four daughters, Joanne Tschoepe and her husband Gene of New
Braunsfield, Texas; Joan Caya and her husband Earl of Minden, Nev.; Dorothy
Thomas of Woodland; and Darlene Merrifield and her husband David of Sacramento.

She is also survived by three sisters, Alberta Donelson of Collinsville, Okla.,
Doris Marler of Nowata, Okla., and Colleene Schmidt of Eugene, Ore.; two
sisters-in-law, Ermal Dildine of Bartlesville, Okla., and Erabelle Dildine of
Collinsville; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and
nephews.

A visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Monday at Mc Nary's Chapel, 458 College St.,
Woodland. Interment will follow at the Woodland Cemetery at the corner of West
and Cross streets.
