Barbara Dorothy Bryant

Barbara Dorothy Bryant, a third-generation Californian and Davis resident of 42
years, died on March 16, 2002. She was 77.

She was born Oct. 28, 1924, in Hollywood to William and Harriet Lord. She eloped
with her childhood sweetheart, Ray H. Bryant, in 1941. They were married for 36
years.

Although her son Ron Bryant of Westerly, R.I., was a starting pitcher with the
San Francisco Giants for nine years, she was an avid Atlanta Braves baseball
fan. She was a member of Daughters of the Golden West and a founding supporter
of the Woodland Opera House Renovation Project.

She was a passionate and dedicated volunteer at Yolo Hospice. She was also a
member of the Davis branch of Eastern Star, the women's auxiliary to the Masons.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a Los Angeles resident; two brothers,
Robert C. White Jr. and John White of San Bernardino; and two grandchildren,
Kenneth F. Bryant Jr. and Robert C. Bryant of San Diego.

She is survived by two sons, Ken Bryant and his wife Vivian of Woodland, and Ron
Bryant; a brother, Bill Lord and his wife Mary of Indio; and seven grandchildren
Cami Platt of Orland, Todd Bryant of Nashville, and Eric Aleto, Shannon Myers,
Nicky Kainon, Dustin Bryant and Chaney Bryant of Southern California.

She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.

Remembrances may be sent to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, CA 95616. The
Davis Funeral Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
