Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net September 13, 2004, 6:56 pm “Winters Express,” Thursday, September 21, 2000 Gale Auradou McClish Gale Auradou McClish passed away on Sunday, Sept. 10, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was born Sept. 30, 1931 in Richmond. A long-time resident of Winters, he was the eldest son of James and Elizabeth McClish. He was the widower of Sara Louise Hayden-McClish. Mr. McClish attended UC Davis where he received his masters in Agricultural Economics. He was a Lieutenant in the US Army at Fort Dix in New Jersey. His love of world wide travel begun with his trip to Paris, France as an Eagle Scout. Mr. McClish instilled in his daughters his love of gardening and books. He built a sailboat and took his family sailing when the girls were young. He retired in Honolulu where he enjoyed playing Santa Claus for nursing homes and volunteered as a driver for chemotherapy patients. Mr. McClish is survived by his brother, Donald McClish of Winters and his sister Nancy Newkom of Yuba City. He had three daughters, Lauri Silva of Winters, Lisa Humble of Westminster, Colorado and Kathi Peterson of Juneau, Alaska. He has two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. at the Pioneer Presbyterian Church. The family requests donations to be made to the American Diabetes Association.
