Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net September 17, 2004, 12:19 am “Winters Express,” Thursday, July 7, 1988 Alice Elizabeth Stephani Alice Stephanie dies after long illness Alice Elizabeth Stephani passed away at her home in Winters, on Wednesday, June 29, following a long illness. Born in Lincoln, California to a pioneer family she taught school there until 1949 when she married Harry Stephani and moved to their farm north of Winters. She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1977. Mrs. Stephani was a member of Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, where she served as the church organist and was also a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Winters Fortnightly Club and its president in 1953-54. She is survived by two cousins, nephews and a great number of good friends. A Christian prayer service was held at St. Anthony’s, Monday, July 4 at 7:30 p.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial was said Tuesday, July 5 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s with Frs. Jim Sheets, Antonio Pinal C., John Ball and Msgr. Andrew Coffey officiating. Burial services were held Wednesday, July 6 at 1 p.m. at the Lincoln Cemetery in Lincoln. Pallbearers were: Alan Bouchard, Richard and Donald Rominger, Brett Dunham, Daniel Martinez, Al Graf and Noel Peattie. Memorials are preferred to the Fortnightly Club Scholarship Fund or St. Anthony’s Church Building Fund.
