HOWELL Birge Howell's body was taken from Madison, on Friday, of last week, to Woodland, to be embalmed, and was taken back to Madison, on Monday of this week, to await the arrival of his people from Canada. Mr. Woods and wife - brother-in-law and sister of deceased - reached Madison on Wednesday night. The body will not be taken back to Canada, but will be buried in Woodland. * * * * * * Embalmed A Mail reporter yesterday viewed the remains of the late B. Howell, who died at Esparto some days ago. They were on exhibition at Stephens & Bean's Undertaking Parlor, after having been embalmed by L.O. Stephens. At the time of his death the deceased was emaciated, but after the remains were taken through Mr. Stephens’ process of embalming they appeared almost as natural as in life. - Mail, October 7 * * * * * The funeral of the late B. Howell will be held in Madison tomorrow at 11 a.m. The interment will take place at Woodland.
