Carroll Sharshel Culton

Services held for Carroll Culton

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Carroll Sharshel Culton, 99, in
the Pioneer Presbyterian Church.  Burial followed in the Winters Cemetery.

Mr. Culton died Sunday, December 20, in Sacramento.  A native of Winters, he was
born June 21, 1888, the son of Rev. and Mrs. H.C. Culton.  Carroll was the last
of nine children born to the Cultons.

He is survived by his son, C. Sharshel Culton Jr., a retired Sacramento teacher;
a daughter, Mary Culton Keep of Woodburn, Oregon; a son in-law, Ralph L. Keep; a
daughter in-law, Bertha C. Culton; four grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.  His wife,
the late Bernice Edwards Culton, preceded him in death.

A veteran of World War I, Culton worked for the City of Sacramento as chief
cashier prior to his retirement.
