Richard Dee Wion

Funeral services held for Richard Dee Wion

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 10, at Smith’s Colonial Chapel for
Robert Dee Wion who died on Friday, April 5, at Woodland Memorial Hospital. 
Burial followed at the Winters Cemetery.

Mr. Wion was born at Grand Island, Nebraska, on August 23, 1917, and was 73.  He
was engaged in the building industry most of his life and was later a building
inspector for Yolo County for 15 years.  He retired in 1980.  He served in the
U.S. Army during World War II.  He lived in Winters for 40 years and had moved
to La Pine, Oregon, just three years ago.  He was a member of the Odd Fellows
Lodge No. 111 and a member of Rebekah Lodge No. 249, both in Woodland.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Wion of La Pine, Oregon, and eight children: 
Richard Theodore Wion of San Rafael, Carol Ann Susa of Hewitt, Minnesota,
Katherine Juanita Allen of Poplar, Roberta Dee Cutlip of Lumberport, West
Virginia, Robert Charles Wion of Winters, Michael Lawrence Wion of Woodland; one
brother, David Wion of Cottonwood; and two sisters, Louella Triplett of
Harriman, Tennessee and Winnefred Fish of Forest Grove, Oregon.  He is also
survived by 31 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

The family prefers that any remembrances be memorial contributions in his memory
to the Heart Fund.
