Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net October 6, 2004, 10:58 pm “Winters Express,” Thursday, July 27, 2000 Casimir Tanski Casimir Tanski, 84, passed away on July 18, 2000, in Woodland, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Tanski was born on Oct. 8, 1915, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was educated at the Passionist Seminary in Prasnysz, Poland, returning to the U.S. during World War II and resettling in Baltimore. After moving to California in 1951, he was employed for 26 years by the Greyhound Corporation in San Francisco. Retiring in 1978, Mr. Tanski operated a horse and cattle ranch west of Winters. Survivors include his wife, Charlene Ladd Tanski of Winters; son, Charles Tanski; grandchildren, Michael and Elaine Tanski of Orinda; brother, Stanislaw Tanski of Poland; nieces and nephews, Gina and Paul Middleman of esparto, and Wanda, Wojtek and Patrick Mizerski and Kasia Izdebska of Pittsburg. Mr. Tanski is also survived by a large extended family living in Poland. A rosary was recited at McNary’s Chapel in Woodland on July 20, and a funeral Mass was held on July 21 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Winters. Burial followed at the Italian Cemetery in Colma.
