Harbert Gregory Jacon Harbert of Rosebud, Mo., died May 14, 2004, at his home, surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with cancer. He was 55 years old. He was born May 22, 1948, in Sacramento, the first son of Richard Wayne Harbert of Eugene, Ore., and Charlotte Georgette Jacon of Paris. The family moved to Davis in 1960 where he attended local schools and graduated from Davis High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972. After the Navy, he returned to Davis for a while and worked at Del's Fix-It Shop. He married Kathleen Marie Barger of Webster Groves, Mo., on June 4, 1977, and moved to their Rosebud farm in 1979. There they raised two children and together founded Herbal Maid Fiber Farm. He worked for many years at the Owensville Small Engine Shop. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Georgette Harbert of Davis. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Marie Barger-Harbert; son, Andrew Boehm Harbert; daughter, Josephine Doron Schnelting; two granddaughters, Hannah Irene Schnelting and Samantha Raine Schnelting; and in-laws Jack and Delores Page, all of Missouri. He is also surviving by his brother, Bruce McHenry Harbert and his wife Sherry Lynn Harbert of Chico, and their six children. "He will be dearly missed by many family and friends in the U.S. and Europe," his family said. A memorial will be in June at the home of Jack and Delores Page of Rosebud, Mo.
