Juana M. Mendoza

Juana Maria Mendoza died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at her home in Knights
Landing. She was 62 years old.

Born March 22, 1942, in Mexico, Mendoza lived in Yolo County for more than 41
years and was employed by the Woodland Joint Unified School District for 11
years. She was a member of Yolo County 4-H and an active member of the Knights
Landing community through her involvement in fund-raising activities for Grafton
Elementary School.

She is survived by her husband, Sabino Mendoza of Knights Landing; her mother,
Socorro Cruz of Mexico; children, Maria Hernandez and her husband Misael of West
Sacramento; Velia Delgado and her husband Jorge of Woodland; and Ruben Mendoza
of Knights Landing.

She is also survived by her sisters, Maria Garcia and her husband Amador of
Knights Landing; Irma, Adela, Carmen and Angelica Cruz; all of Mexico; and
brothers Javier and David Cruz, also of Mexico. Five grandchildren and numerous
nieces and nephews also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her brother Jesus Cruz in 1974, sister Hortencia
Cruz in 1979 and father Francisco Cruz in 1987.

An evening vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at Holy Rosary
Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St. in Woodland, and a Mass of Christian burial will
follow on Wednesday, at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Woodland.

Arrangements are under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Services of Woodland.
