Sadler Essie Sadler passed away on Saturday, June 5, 1999, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina, after a short illness. Born Aug. 21, 1906, she was 92 years old. Essie was a resident of Winters for 24 years, before moving to Fayetteville, North Carolina, 4 ˝ years ago. She was a resident of Vallejo for 40 years, prior to living in Winters. She was a member of the Church of Christ for 75 years, and helped to build the church in Vallejo. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Silver Star #3. She was a homemaker all of her adult life. Essie is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Ava C. and Lecil Treat of Travis Air Force base, and Vickie and David Barbosa of Winters; sons and their spouses, John and Tensia Sadler, and Charles and Anita Sadler, all of Fayetteville, North Carolina; brother, Lonzo Wagers of Lawton, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 10, from 3-7 p.m., at Skyview Funeral Chapel, 200 Rollingwood Drive in Vallejo. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 11, at 2 p.m., also at Skyview Funeral Chapel. Jim Mendenhall, from the Church of Christ in Vallejo, will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Skyview Memorial Lawn in Vallejo. Memorial contributions, in Essie’s name, may be made to Sierra Children’s Home, 5063 Midway road, Vacaville, CA 95688.
