SUDDEN PASSING OF A. B. FREEMAN

Alfred Baxter Freeman resident of Winters for the past forty four years passed
away suddenly in his home early Tuesday morning at the age of 60 years 10 months
and 5 days.

Deceased was a native of Missouri coming to California when but one year old and
settling with the family in Lake County where they resided for sixteen years.
Afterwards the family moved to Winters where Freeman remained the rest of his
life. He had been in poor health for some time following a paralytic stroke
about a year ago.

Freeman was united in marriage to Sadie E. Smith who with six children and seven
grand children survived. Children are Mrs. Nellie Hurdle of Sacramento, Mrs.
Velma Saunders of Srathmore, William Freeman of Roseville, LeRoy and Ralph
Freeman and Mrs. Mary Shepard of Winters. A sister, Mrs. Agnes Boles of Los
Angeles and a brother, Avery Freeman of Woodland also survive.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church Thursday afternoon at 2
o’clock. The pastor C.P. Barkman officiating under C.W. McNary.  C.Perry and C.S
Culton offered song service.

Casket bearers were: George Scott, E.W. Fenley, Frank McGraw, N.A. McArthur,
William Emery and Oscar Ormiston.

Many beautiful floral offerings were given in tribute of life long friendships.
He was placed to rest on the family plot in the Masonic Cemetery.

Out of town relatives noted in attendance were Mrs. C. R. Boles and Mrs. Ross
Saunders and family, and Mrs. Nellie Hurdle and daughter.
