Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net and Judith Hinton October 18, 2004, 10:12 pm “The Daily Democrat,” Friday, January 11, 2002 Anita “Fay” Cristler Peterson Anita “Fay” Cristler Peterson died in Woodland Memorial Hospital Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at age 82. Born Feb. 17, 1919, in Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Peterson was the daughter of the late Carl and Millie Martin. She came to Capay Valley with her first husband in 1947. They owned a Frostie Restaurant in Lake County for 11 years in the 1960s and '70s. Following her retirement she and her first husband moved to Woodland. Mr. Cristler died in 1982. In 1985 she married her second husband and returned to Capay Valley. Before becoming ill she enjoyed painting and trips to Reno, fishing and trips to their vacation home at Blue Canyon. Mrs. Peterson is survived by her husband, John L. Peterson of Capay; children, Daniel M. Cristler and wife Darlene of Sacramento, Ralph G. Cristler and wife Kari of Portland, Ore., Shirley (Peterson) Tanner and husband Richard of Santa Barbara and Carol (Peterson) Means of Capay; grandchildren, Michael Cristler and wife Roberta of Zamora, Hattie Souza and husband Joe of Woodland, Joseph Cristler and wife Becky of Woodland, Annie Doyle and husband Richard of Arbuckle, Tony Cristler of Esparto, Marty Cristler of Woodland, Joe Williams of Sacramento, Rhonda Spicer of Rocklin, Daniel Williams of Texas, Leesa Williams of Sacramento, Dr. William Tanner and wife Sharon of Jacksonville, N.C., Marlene Schmidt and husband Jeff of Ohio, Eric Tanner and wife Judy of Grand Terrace, Les Errington of Capay, Cathy Miller and husband J.J. of Esparto; and 28 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Vivian Landmesser of Twenty-nine Palms and Evelyn Smoot of Seal Beach; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Peterson was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael Cristler Sr., in 1982; and son, Michael G. Cristler Jr. in 2000. A graveside service is scheduled at a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at Capay Cemetery in Esparto. McNary's Chapel of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
