Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net and Judith Hinton October 18, 2004, 10:23 pm “The Daily Democrat,” Wednesday, January 16, 2002 Charles Martin Brown Charles Martin Brown died in Woodland Memorial Hospital Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at age 79. Born Sept. 15, 1922, in Orland, Mr. Brown had been a Yolo County resident for the last 20 years. He was the son of the late Charles C. and Lillie C. (Barner) Brown. He was a World War II veteran, stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash., having served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He later graduated from San Francisco's Golden Gate University Law School. Until his retirement in 1981, he was most recently employed as a claims supervisor with Reliance Insurance Company. Mr. Brown is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Childress; son, Chuck Brown, both of Woodland; grandsons, Ron Brown and wife Tracy of Denver, Colo., Martin Brown of San Luis Obispo, and Eric Brown of Marysville; great-granddaughter, Sarah Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane (Gregg) Brown, in 1982; and brother, Robert W. Brown, in 2001. A graveside service is scheduled at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16, in Woodland Cemetery, 800 West St., Woodland, with Pastor Elmer Prout officiating. The family requests memorials be directed to the charity of choice. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.
