George E. Warriner

George Edward Warriner, a resident of Covell Gardens retirement community in
Davis, died on April 27, 2004, at Woodland Memorial Hospital, after a lengthy
battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was 92 years old.

He was born on April 18, 1912, in Pennsylvania to Ernest and Clara Warriner. He
came to California as a teenager, where he graduated from Manuel Arts High
School in 1930. He then attended UCLA, where he earned his bachelor's degree in
economics in 1934 and was a member of the track team.

During World War II he was a civilian employee of the United States Navy. He was
a successful businessman in Southern California, where he owned several
different businesses during his career. He also served on the state licensing
board for engineers. He was a member of the Masons and the Knights Templer Shrine.

He had been a resident of Yolo County for the past 14 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Eleanor Warriner, in 1989.

He is survived by his son, Thomas Warriner and his wife Jacquline of Davis; his
sister, Lillian Sahagian of Southern California; and two grandsons, Timothy E.
and Jason E. Warriner.

A private family memorial is being planned.

Remembrances may be made in his name to AARP Foundation, Attn: Chief Development
officer/WS, 601 E. Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20049.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Chapel.
