Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net June 6, 2004, 4:56 pm "The Davis Enterprise," Thursday, April 15, 2004 Joseph R. Blum Joseph R. Blum of Davis died suddenly on April 7, 2004, in Sacramento. He was 64. Born Jan. 16, 1940, in Billings, Mont., he had a lifelong career working toward conservation of fish, wildlife and the environment. It was important to him that these resources be managed so his children, grandchildren and future generations could enjoy them, his family said. "He has certainly left his mark and the world is a better place because he was here," his family said. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane, of Davis; son, Caleb Michael Blum and his wife, Monica, of Seattle; daughter, Michele Permenter and her husband, Don, of Davis; grandchildren Logan Joseph Permenter and Avery Permenter of Davis, and Caleb Blum of Seattle. A memorial will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 16 at the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge in Washington. Family will be present beginning at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Friends of Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, 100 Round Farm Road, Olympia, WA 98516.
