Woodland “Daily Democrat” 
Elmer George Davis

Elmer George Davis died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at age 92.

Born Nov. 14, 1909, in Los Angeles, Mr. Davis was a member of United Nations
Association, charter member of World Affairs Council of Northern California,
Yolo County Historical Societies, Sacramento Book Collectors' Club, El Circulo
Hispano, and was a member of Faith Presbyterian.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Lou Gayman of San Diego; brother, Gene Davis
of Woodland; grandchildren, Peter Dunn, and Elizabeth Davis; stepchildren, Lucy
Burrows of New York, James Grant of Louisiana, and William Grant of Virginia;
stepgrandchildren, Laura and Shawn Burrows; stepgreat-granddaughter, Gwendolyn;
and companion, Elizabeth Gray.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Davis; sons, Robert and
Donald Davis; parents, Marvin and Mary Davis of Esparto; and sister, Ruth King.

A memorial service was conducted Saturday, Jan. 19, at Faith Presbyterian
Church, 625 Florin Road, Sacramento.

The family requests memorials be directed to Faith Presbyterian, in his behalf.
