Sandoval died at Kaiser Hospital in Roseville on Friday, Feb. 1, 2002 at the age of 78. Born Dec. 25, 1923, in Los Angeles, Mr. Sandoval was the son of the late Casmino and Ignacia Sandoval. Mr. Sandoval had been a resident of Yolo County for 57 years. Mr. Sandoval was in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II from 1942 to 1946 serving both in the Hawaiian Islands and Midway Islands. He was a machinist for 30 years and worked for Dos Rios Farms. Mr. Sandoval was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; American Legion and the Marine Corp League. He is survived by his wife Martina Sandoval of Woodland. Daughters, Eleanor Sandoval and Ann Sandoval both of Woodland. Grandchildren, Brian Gersalia, Rosalio Altamirano, Tina Altamirano, and Manuel Altamirano. Great grandsons, Manuel Altamirano Jr. and Exaviar Altamirano, all of Woodland. A vigil will be held at the Holy Rosary Church on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. The funeral mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002 at the Holy Rosary Church with interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
