Miguel died in Alderson Convalescent Hospital, Woodland Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at age 91. Born Dec. 25, 1910, in the Philippines, Mr. Miguel was the son of the late Anesento and Margareta Miguel. He had been a Yolo County resident for the past five years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1946. He served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater earning the campaign medal of the same name as well as the American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a bartender for 45 years. He was last employed by the City of Paris in San Francisco. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Miguel is survived by his sister, Victoria Miguel-Lucas of the Philippines; nieces, Jacinta Barena and husband Larry of Carson, Lynn Miguel-Mullen and husband Tom and Ann Miguel-Joule and husband Frank, all of Woodland; nephews, Santi Miguel and wife Verline of Esparto, Leon Miguel and wife Jane of Woodland; cousin, Andrea Miguel Amor and husband Dominador of New Orleans; stepson, Samuel Pasion and wife Esther of San Jose; and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Felicidad (Mangaoil) Miguel in 1990; cousin, Leon Miguel in 1981; and stepson, Theodore Pasion in 2001. The vigil service is scheduled at 7 p.m. today, Friday, Feb. 8, at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. A funeral mass is scheduled to be said at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Woodland, with interment to follow at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland.
