Struble died peacefully in his American Canyon home Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at age 101. Born May 23, 1900, in Mora, Minn., Mr. Struble was an architect for the light house service in Port Washington, Wisconsin in 1929 to 1935 where his family were the first residence in light house after it was remodeled. He was lighthouse keeper for light house service from 1935 to 1941. He was an architect for Mare Island Naval Shipyard from 1941 to 1962 retiring in 1962. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps World War I. According to his family members, "he loved outdoors, gardening, hunting, fishing, camping and family lived by the golden rule." Mr. Struble is survived by his daughter, Eva Johnson of Napa; and son, Thomas (Jerroldine) Struble of Woodland. He is also survived by his five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Struble was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Struble; and son, Richard Struble. A graveside service is scheduled at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, at Skyview Memorial Lawn in Vallejo, with Chaplain Shaw, officiating. Burial will follow after the service. The family requests memorials be directed to Kaiser Hospice; American Canyon Fire Department; or the charity of the donor's choice.
