Butler died of natural cause Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at age 91. Born Dec. 22, 1910, native of Arbuckle, Mrs. Butler graduated from Arbuckle High School. As a young girl, she was a member of the Red Cross during World War I. She married her husband on April 12, 1936 at Arbuckle Methodist Church. She was employed by Standard Oil in Sacramento as a bookkeeper for 20 years. The couple lived briefly in Richmond, Va. during World War II while her husband served in the U.S. Navy, then returned to Arbuckle. They moved to Fort Bragg in 1977. Later she was employed by Ehrens Hardware Store in Fort Bragg. She and her husband were active in the Footlighter's Theater Group in Fort Bragg. In 1997, they moved to Lodi to be near their daughter. According to her family members, "she enjoyed playing bridge and sewing." Mrs. Butler is survived by her daughter, Nola Butler of Lodi; grandchildren, Michelle Hall of Dallas, Texas and Casey Geisert of Stockton; sister-in-law, Thelma Forsythe of Lincoln; four nieces and numerous great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick William Butler on Aug. 17, 1999; and son, Douglas Butler in 2001. A graveside service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, in College City Cemetery (near Arbuckle), with Mr. Ed Martinez, officiating. The family requests memorials be directed to Hospice of San Joaquin, 2609 E. Hammer Lane, Stockton, 95210-4222. Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S.
