Hatton Virginia "Ginny" Louise Hatton died peacefully in her Sacramento home on the morning of March 25, 2004. She was 83. She was born Virginia Louise Lowe on Oct. 9, 1920, in Fiddletown. Until her early 20s, she lived in Davis. She attended the UC Davis and was named Miss Davis in 1939. After leaving Davis, she lived briefly with her family in Long Beach but spent the majority of her life in Sacramento. She was a loving mother and dedicated to her children and her home, her family said. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and was rarely seen without her dog, Rusty. She is survived by a sister, Evelyn Ramser and her husband O.W. Ramser of Paradise; two daughters, Joy Schmiedt of Sacramento and Christine Myers and her husband Hank of Redmond, Wash.; two sons, Peter Hatton Jr. and his wife Liz of Sacramento, and Douglas Hatton and his wife Margee of Davis; seven grandchildren: Teresa Murray and her husband Mike of Rocklin, Richard Schmiedt and his wife April of Elk Grove, Todd Myers and his wife Maria of Auburn, Wash., Nancy Berejikian and her husband Mihran of Sacramento, Kimberly Moss and her partner Anna of Paw Paw, Mich., Charlie Hatton and Kelly Hatton of Davis; and six great-grandchildren. A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Davis Cemetery, 820 Pole Line Road.
