Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net June 18, 2004, 12:25 pm Woodland "Daily Democrat," Tuesday, March 01, 2004 Katherine Schlegel Ricau Katherine Schlegel Ricau died at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, La., following a brief illness on Monday, Jan. 26, 2003 (sic), at age 92. Born April 17, 1911, in New Orleans, La., Mrs. Ricau was a resident of Mandeville, La. She was a graduate of Newcomb College of Tulare University, a 50 year member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, member of the Daughters of the American Colonists, Colonial Dames, and the United Daughters of Confederacy. She was a pianist, composer and elementary school teacher. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara R. MacArthur of Woodland and Eugenie R. Rocherolle of Wilton, Ct.; sister, Viola Claverie of New Orleans; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gustave J. Ricau Jr.; and daughter, Lorraine R. Lorange. The family requests memorials be directed to Fairhaven Children's Home, 21066 Fairhaven Road, Covington, La. 70435. Services: Funeral services were conducted at the Metairie Lake Lawn Chapel of New Orleans, La. with a burial at Metairie Cemetery.
