Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net June 18, 2004, 12:27 pm Woodland "Daily Democrat," Sunday, February 29, 2004 Issie Sherman Issie Sherman of Woodland Hills, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004 at age 90. Born Nov. 25, 1913, in Montreal, Canada, Mr. Sherman was one of seven children whose parents emigrated from Lithuania to Montreal, Canada where he met his wife Rae. They had five children, eventually moved to Vancouver, and then to California. He left school in the sixth grade to help support his family and worked at a belt and buckle factory before moving to Vancouver. He served in the Canadian Army Medical Corps Marching Band. Survivors include his daughters, Jean Geissinger and husband Gerry of Coquitlam, B.C. Canada, Rena Sherman of Saugus, Ca., and Elaine Sturm and husband Woody of Meridian, Idaho, formerly of Woodland; sons, Ken Sherman and wife Carol, and Mark Sherman and wife Jeanie, all of Moorpark; grandchildren, Rebecca Kammerer and husband Timm of Point Magu Naval Base, Brandon Sherman of Reno, Nev., Jason Stern and wife Linda of Saugus, Ca., Jeffrey Stern of Palmdale, Joshua Stern of San Diego, Ca., Barby Halpert and husband Joe of Simi Valley, Spencer Sherman and Lindsay Weiss, also of Simi Valley, Mason Sherman of Moorpark, and David Sturm of Meridian, Idaho; seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Rae Sherman, in September 2000. Services: Funeral services were conducted at Gromen-Eden Memorial Park in Mission Hills, Feb. 15, 2004.
