Ida Cristina Lammers

Ida Cristina Lammers died in Fort Bragg, Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at age 85.

Born May 18, 1916, in Woodland, Mrs. Lammers was a 1935 Woodland High School
graduate. She was raised on the family farm near the Yolo area until her
marriage to Norbert (Bert) Lammers in 1937. The couple operated a farm in the
Willow Oak area west of Woodland from 1947 to 1974. During that time, she became
active as an exhibitor at the Yolo County Fair with the flowers and vegetables
grown on the farm. She became one of the major exhibitors in floriculture and
agriculture at the County Fair for a number of years. She and her husband
retired from farming in 1974 and moved to the Mendocino Coast. She was known as
"the plant lady" for the many plants she propagated and distributed.

Mrs. Lammers is survived by her daughter, Joan Howard of Sacramento; son, Don
Lammers and wife Marilyn of Woodland; sisters, Ella Hulsman of Esparto and Leah
Adams and husband Don of Kellsyville; grandchildren, Michelle Cannan, and John
Lammers and wife Julie; and great-grandchildren, Lindsey Cannan, Nicholas
Cannan, Jacob Cannan, and Rebecca Lammers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert (Bert) Lammers; mother, Lydia
Nuss; father, Edward Nuss; and brother, Johnnie Nuss.

A memorial to be announced.

The family requests memorials be directed to diabetic-related charities.

Chapel by the Sea of Fort Bragg is assisting the family with arrangements.
