Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net and Judith Hinton November 18, 2004, 10:23 pm Woodland "Daily Democrat," Monday, March 18, 2002 Albert Joseph DeMartini Albert Joseph DeMartini died surrounded by his family, Friday, March 15, 2002, at Woodland Memorial Hospital, at age 81. Born on Aug. 24, 1920, Mr. DeMartini was a native of North Beach in San Francisco, he was a well known Sutter Basin farmer since 1943. He attended the Salesian's Boys School and Galileo High School. Before moving to Yolo County, he worked as a share holder of the San Francisco Scavenger Association. Mr. DeMartini loved to farm, hunt and play golf, said family members. He was one of the founders of "the Italians Vs. the World Golf Tournament," a popular event since 1964 at the Yolo Fliers Country Club. He was a member of the Elks Club and Italian Catholic federation. He loved people and will be remembered as an honest, loving person by his many friends, according to his family, who noted he lived a full life and will be deeply missed. Mr. DeMartini is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elsye Giusti DeMartini and children, Diane DeMartini Naekel, Joan Warren, Laura Sachs and Bret DeMartini. He has 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His grandchildren include, Julie Mifsud, Amy Conn, Kristen Tadlock, Marcus Klinkhammer, Elizabeth Thompson, Matthew Warren, Daniel Sachs, Davis Sachs, Francis DeMartini and Guiliano DeMartini. he is also survived by sons-in-law Garry Warren and Jim Naekel and daughter-in-law Cindy DeMartini. Visitation is scheduled at 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, with the Rosary at 7 p.m., at McNary's Chapel in woodland. The funeral mass is scheduled at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 20, at Holy Rosary church in Woodland. The family requests memorials be directed to St. Jude's Hospital, The Salesian's Boys Club of San Francisco or to a charity of the donors' of choice.
