Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net and Judith Hinton November 18, 2004, 10:54 pm Woodland "Daily Democrat," Wednesday, April 03, 2002 Nancy Jean Johnson Bain Nancy Jean Johnson Bain died in Sacramento following a brief illness due to breast cancer Thursday, March 28, 2002, at age 46. Born Aug. 30, 1955, in Sacramento, Mrs. Bain grew up in Davis and graduated from Davis High School in 1973. She helped her father and mother ranch in Rumsey, and graduated with her masters of science in mathematics from Sacramento State before marrying Roland in 1980. She taught through the Los Rios Unified School District for 23 years as a math instructor at Sacramento City College. According to her family members, "she loved playing golf with her friends at Yolo Fliers Country Club and was a proud Natomas Rampage Soccer Enthusiast. Traveling and gardening were her hobbies and watching the sunset over the Sacramento River was her way of relaxing." Mrs. Bain is survived by her husband, Roland Bain; children, Ed and Scott Bain; parents, Lorraine and Jim Johnson; sister, Joan and her family Bob Achermann, Jim and Katie; sister-in-law, Yvette and her family Charlie Shubert, and Alan. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Larry Bain, Sheri, Nichole and Marianne, Jim Bain, James, Andrew and Alana, Julie Bain Christensen, Dana, and DJ, Bill Bain, and John, Linda and Jenny Bain. A private mass of Christian burial was conducted Monday, April 1 at Calvary Cemetery, with Father James T. Murphy officiated. A memorial service is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 7, at Dante Club, 2330 Fair Oaks Blvd., Sacramento. The family requests memorials be directed to Natomas Charter School's Bain Memorial; or to Sacramento's Sutter Cancer Center.
