Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net June 28, 2004, 6:33 pm Woodland "Daily Democrat," Monday, February 02, 2004 Elizabeth Dorethea Hunziker Hoffmann (2nd of 2 obituaries) Elizabeth Dorethea Hunziker Hoffmann died in her Woodland home Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at age 87. Born Dec. 31, 1916, in Pomeroy, Ohio, Mrs. Hoffmann was the daughter of the late Rev. C.H.S. Hunziker and Lucy Arras Hunziker. She attended elementary school in Prospect, Ohio, and high school in Anaheim, junior college at Fullerton Junior College, and graduated from UCLA with a major in music. She taught choral music at Anaheim Union High School. In 1945 she married Rev. Elmer Hoffmann. He pastored in Woodland for 23 years. She was active in the music program of the church, serving in various positions as organist, junior and senior choir director as well as Bible study leader and speaker at women's retreats. She taught piano, organ and voice for many years and gave many Organ recitals and concerts in various churches. She was President of Minister's Wives Fellowship of Woodland. Survivors include her children, Norman Hoffmann and his wife Jean of Monterey, Miriam Hoffmann of Truckee and Rev. Gregory Hoffmann and his wife Cindy of San Diego; grandchildren, Sean and his wife Michelle of Yardley, Pa., Brian and his wife April of Santa Barbara, Nathaniel of Azusa Pacific University, and Garrett and Melyssa of San Diego; sister in law, Mary Heinze of Stockton and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Rev. Elmer Hoffmann on Nov. 7, 2003. The family requests memorials be directed to American Lutheran Church Missions; or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland. Services: A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the American Lutheran Church, 1114 College St., Woodland. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
