Jose F. Bueno, Sr. 

Jose F. Bueno Sr. died in Woodland Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at age 88. Born March
25, 1915, in San Angelo, Texas, Mr. Bueno was the son of Lucio and Eugenia
Bueno. He served in the U.S. Army Engineer Corp during World War II as a
sergeant. He was a prisoner of war for six months in Germany. He received two
Purple Hearts. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 77 and a life
member of the American Disabled Veterans. He was also a member of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was employed by Southern Pacific for 30
years, Deseret Farms for three years and by the County of Yolo for 17 years.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary A. Bueno of Woodland; son, Jose
Bueno Jr. of Woodland; daughters, Mary Gene Rodriguez and husband Pedro of
Woodland, Diana Rios of Dixon, Ofelia Garza and husband Fred of Sacramento,
Lydia Azevedo and husband Ben, Cindy Isler and husband Tom of Madera, and Rosita
Michel of Woodland; Godchildren, Jose Bueno III and Camaron Navaretti; sister,
Lillian Navarro of Palermo; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son, Marlon Bueno; and
daughter, Irene Bueno.

Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.

Services: Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, at McNary's
Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m.
Monday, Jan. 19 at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland.
