Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net June 28, 2004, 8:02 pm Woodland "Daily Democrat," Monday January 12, 2004 Alvin Glen Ellis (1st of 2 obituaries) Former Woodland resident Al Ellis died Thursday, January 8, after a brief illness. He was 65. Al was retired from truck driving and living in Clovis with his wife of 43 years, Ellen. He grew up in the central San Joaquin Valley town of Lindsay, graduating in 1958. He moved to Woodland in 1972 and worked at Crown Pipe, Best Pipe and Fleetwood Mobile Homes. Al was a former president of the Woodland Babe Ruth League and a longtime member of the governing board during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Al enjoyed golfing, fishing and camping. He is survived by his wife Ellen Ellis of Clovis; his son, John Ellis, and daughter-in-law, Erin Kennedy, both of Clovis; his grandchildren, Orion and Anya Ellis; his mother, Lera Maris Ellis, and his sister, Nancy Butler, both of Porterville; and a niece and nephew. Services are private. Remembrances for Al Ellis can be made to the American Lung Association.
