Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net July 2, 2004, 12:34 am "The Davis Enterprise," Monday, March 1, 2004 Stephen J. Brashear Stephen John Brashear of Woodland died Feb. 22, 2004, in Clipper Mills. He was 83. Born April 22, 1920, in St. Joseph, Mo., Brashear graduated from Berkeley High School in 1938. He attended UC Berkeley prior to enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1942. During World War II, Brashear served as a Navy pilot, attaining the rank of lieutenant by the time of his discharge in 1946. He remained in aviation and went on to have a 24-year career as an air traffic controller. He also was a member of the Woodland Elks Lodge 1299. Brashear is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Brashear of Woodland; four daughters, Suzanne Kilburn of Soulsbyville, Jeanne Vonnegut of Castro Valley, Linda Denman of Campbell and Lisa Neal of Woodland; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Private services are scheduled, with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Evergreen Funeral Service of Woodland is handling the arrangements.
