Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net July 3, 2004, 1:03 am "The Davis Enterprise," Saturday, February 7, 2004 Raymond K. Bartholomew Raymond Kenneth Bartholomew died Feb. 3, 2004, in Sacramento. He was 71 years old. He was educated in Salt Lake City, Utah, and attended the University of Utah. He worked as a civil engineer for the Utah Department of Transportation until 1967, and was employed with J.W. Vickrey Co. from 1967 to 1978. He worked until his death as a general engineering contractor throughout the Western states and Canada with his longtime friend and business partner, Tom Atkinson II, and his son Greg. One of his major accomplishments was supervision of construction of the space shuttle runway at Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Catherine Bartholomew, and his grandson, Michael Phillips. He is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Norma of El Macero; his son, Gregory Bartholomew and his wife Judy of Woodland; his daughter, Rorie "Rick" Butterfield of Dixon; and four grandchildren, Dustin Phillips and his wife Melissa of Woodland, Ashley Butterfield of Dixon, and Alexandra and Wyatt Bartholomew of Woodland. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 850 Pioneer Ave. in Woodland. Burial at Monument Hill Memorial Park will follow the service.
