Ellen M. Zeiss

Ellen Marie Zeiss died Feb. 2, 2004, at Sierra Health Care in Davis, after a
lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born Aug. 20, 1910, in Mullan, Idaho,
she was 93 years old.

She grew up in Idaho and came to California in 1934, settling in the East Bay
Area. She lived in Richmond and El Cerrito and worked for Navlet's Florist in
Oakland as a bookkeeper for many years. She moved to Esparto in 1977 and had
lived in Yolo County since then.

She was preceded in death by her brother and sister, Henning and Esther; her
husband, Ralph Zeiss; and her mother, Hulda Erickson.

She is survived by her son, Charles Zeiss of Pinole; her niece, Linea Herger of
Esparto; her nephew, Doug Erickson of Esparto; her sister-in-law, Ethel Erickson
of Esparto; three great-nephews and two great-nieces.

Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D
St. A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Cypress Lawn Memorial
Park in Colma.

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that remembrances in her name be made to
the charity of the donor's choice.
