Jose G. Hinojosa

Jose Guadalupe "Lupe" Hinojosa, 76, died on Jan. 21, 2004, at Woodland Memorial
Hospital. Born on Dec. 12, 1927, in Tonaya, Jalisco, Mexico, where he grew up
and attended school, he was a resident of Yolo County for 50 years.

He owned his own landscape business in Esparto for 30 years. He was a member of
the Knights of Columbus, West Yolo Council 10058, where he held the position of
Outside Guard.

He is survived by his mother, Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez of Los Angeles; two
daughters, Bonnie Hinojosa of Woodland and Rosa Hinojosa of West Sacramento; and
two sons, Miguel Hinojosa of Colima, Mexico, and Fernando Hinojosa of Tijuana,
Mexico. Additional survivors include three sisters, Carmen Hinojosa of Modesto,
Anita Hinojosa of Los Angeles, and Teresa Hinojosa of Houston; and three
brothers: Miguel Hinojosa of Woodland, Mateo Hinojosa of Nogales, Ariz., and
Roberto Hinojosa of Los Angeles. Additional survivors include his longtime
companion Vesta Smith of Woodland plus four grandchildren, 10
great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

His father, Jose Guadalupe Hinojosa, died in 1955.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, 9:30 a.m., at Holy Rosary
Catholic Church in Woodland with interment to follow at the Capay Cemetery in
Esparto. The family requests donations be made to the Hinojosa Memorial Fund at
Bank of the West, 186 Main St., Woodland.
