Robert M. Snider

Robert Meade Snider, a 23-year Davis resident, died June 29, 2004, at Sutter
Davis Hospital after a lengthy battle with kidney disease. He was 60.

Born Feb. 6, 1944, in San Jose, Snider proudly served his country in the U.S.
Navy on the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk during Vietnam. He worked for
Pacific Bell Telephone Co. as a test technician for more than 30 years. He was
described by his family as a "jack of all trades" and a very "silly man." He was
an avid bicyclist and studied geology and volcanoes as a hobby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Elizabeth Snider, and his
brother, Ralph Snider.

He is survived by his children, Casey Anne Snider of Davis, Stephanee Elizabeth
Guidino and her husband Jake of Carmichael and David Richard Snider of Davis;
grandchildren, Andrea Guidino and Michelle Casey Snider; brothers, Ron Snider of
Colorado and Terry Snider of Manteca; life partner Dorothy Nielsen of Magalia;
and the mother of his children, Eileen Sue Snider. He also leaves a stepson,
Nicholas Alexander Nielsen of Santa Rosa, and his faithful dog, Oreo.

Private family services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of the
Davis Funeral Chapel.
