Perazzo pbperazzo@comcast.net July 8, 2004, 11:28 pm "The Davis Enterprise," Thursday, July 8, 2004 Rose Salas Rose Salas died July 6, 2004, at her daughter and son-in-law's home in Davis after a courageous fight with lung cancer, surrounded by family and loved ones. She was 82 years old. She was born to the late Augustina and Reyes Garcia on Feb. 5, 1922, in Leesburg, N.M. She was a longtime resident of Yolo County, living in Davis 1940 to 1970 and moving to Woodland until the last month when she moved to Davis with her daughter. Most of her married life she spent at home, taking care of her children. Later on, she became a bookkeeper for her husband's business before his death. She then went to work for Woodland Memorial Hospital until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Salas; children, Ramon, Mary Ellen and Cecilia Salas; and two grandsons, Michael and Vincent Salas. She is survived by her daughters, Ramona Lowry and her husband Dale of Davis, Ernestine Salinas and her husband Hector, and Alberta Villanueva, all of Sacramento; and sons David Salas and his wife Lucia of Yolo and Marshall Salas and his wife Cecile of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend the vigil service to begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St. in Woodland. A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Church, 301 Walnut St. in Woodland. Burial will follow at Monument Hill Memorial Park.
